The 37th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony went down on Saturday November 5 2022.
Dolly Parton, Duran Duran and Eurythmics were among the artists who were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
After accepting the Rock Hall's honour from P!nk, Dolly Parton said "I'm a rock star now!"
Earlier this year Dolly had turned down her nomination stating that she feels like she has not earned the right.
"Even though I am extremely flattered and grateful to be nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, I don't feel that I have earned that right.I really do not want votes to be split because of me, so I must respectfully bow out," she said.
However, later in April she stated that she'd "gracefully" accept the award "because the fans voted".
"But when I said that, it was always my belief that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame was for the people in rock music, and I have found out lately that it's not necessarily that," the singer told NPR.
The 76-year-old revealed to the audience that she had written a song especially for the ceremony night.
Dolly then changed into a black-leather outfit that matched the style of the electric guitar she's holding.
"If I'm gonna be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, I'm gonna have to earn in it," Dolly Parton said.
After performing her original rockin' number, some of Dolly's fellow inductees as well as P!nk joined on her on stage to perform her classic song Jolene.
P!nk, Judas Priest's Rob Halford, Eurythmics' Annie Lennox, Brandi Carlile, Simon Le Bon sang a verse and like Dolly said, it sure was "a star-studded stage".
Fans were super excited to see many of their favourites on the stage together.
"Rob halford and Simon le Bon sharing a stage together. with Dolly Parton . you can't make this up. it's madness I tell you !!!! And awesome !!!!!" one fan wrote.
"This is one of the best things I've ever seen. Everyone so high quality.... everyone so respectful. Such excellence!!!!!" another wrote.
"So many of my favorites on one stage!"
P!nk and Brandi Carlile performed a stunning performance of "Coat of Many Colors" as a tribute to the country legend Dolly Parton.
The sad news was shared at the induction ceremony via a letter that was read out aloud by fellow former band member Simon Le Bon.
