Dolly Parton reveals her long-time successful career and skincare secrets

"That's kind of a Parton family trait."

Dolly Parton has revealed her best-kept secrets about her longtime successful career, and it all starts with a wake-up call at 3am.

The 76-year-old musician revealed that her days start at the ridiculous time of the morning because that is when she gets her best work done, and I definitely can't relate.

"I don't need a whole lot of sleep," said the legend.

"I go to bed pretty early, but even if I've been up late — it's just kind of like a little clock inside of me that says 'It's 3 o'clock!' I do some of my best work there, but I get enough sleep."

"I don't require as much sleep as a lot of other people do. That's kind of a Parton family trait," she oh-so, humbly quipped.

The country music icon added that her father, Robert Lee Parton, gave her the trait to rise early.

The musician also discussed her skincare routine or lack thereof.

She declared, "I don't perform any elaborate skin rituals or anything, and I don't believe you need to spend a lot of money on nice cosmetics."

Well, this would have been a handy hint to know years ago.

Dolly continued to say that sometimes a beauty routine on a budget can prove to be just as beneficial,

"Most of the products that cost less are just as good, and sometimes better than the ones that cost a fortune."

She also acknowledged that one of the secrets to her glowing skin is that she avoided sun exposure when she was younger - it's as simple as that.

"I never got out in the sun. I don't have a lot of the same problems that women my age do because I never baked myself in the sun," she said.

Well, there we have it. At 76, Dolly is still radiating her youthful glow, and now we have the reasons why. Although, I'm not too sure I'll be starting to get up at 3am - that's too much of a push.
