A documentary about Michael Jackson's epic 1993 Super Bowl Halftime Show is in development.
On Tuesday, producers at Hulu and ESPN announced that a film titled Spectacle: Michael Jackson at the Super Bowl is in production.
Directed and produced by Bao Nguyen, the documentary is set to be released in February 2027.
"In January of 1993, the world of sport, entertainment and broadcast was forever transformed when Michael Jackson took the stage at the Rose Bowl during the Super Bowl XXVII Halftime show," a synopsis reads. "Spectacle: Michael Jackson at the Super Bowl, a new feature documentary (will take) the viewer through the backstory of the Halftime Show and chronicle the journey to and through this iconic, industry-shifting show."
Producers promised fans that the project will include never-before-seen footage of Michael and his team as well as analysis of how the Thriller hitmaker turned the event into the "single biggest spectacle in pop culture".
It's unclear whether any of the Jackson family members will appear in the film.
Attorney John Branca, who has served as the executor of Michael's estate since his death at the age of 50 in June 2009, is listed as one of the producers.
The King of Pop headlined the Super Bowl XXVII Halftime Show at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
The performance included a medley of the songs Jam, Billie Jean, and Black or White. It concluded with renditions of We Are the World, backed by a choir of over 3,000 local Los Angeles area children, and Heal the World.
The Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough singer's life and career have been in the spotlight again in recent months, due to the release of the film Michael in April.
The musical biographical drama, starring Michael's nephew Jaafar Jackson in the lead role, is the fourth highest-grossing film of the year so far.
