Disney quietly changed its classic intro music and fans are FURIOUS

"It sounds like the villain already won."

There's not much better than a Disney movie night, cosied up in your jammies, hearing the iconic Disney intro blast through the lounge.

It's been a constant comfort, from childhood sleepovers to nostalgic throwbacks, helping us escape the realities of adulting.

For anyone attached to those classic opening notes, the news that Disney has changed its intro song from its original ‘When You Wish Upon A Star’ will be most unwelcome.

It's the first time the tune has been changed in 71 years, and let’s just say, the internet is NOT happy about it.

The new song sounds relatively similar to the original at first, but different instruments are added and it gets increasingly chaotic until the cherry is put on top with a truly bizarre ending.

Have a listen for yourself:

The remake has been getting a lot of attention online - and not for all the right reasons.

“WHAT?!? OLD DISNEY INTRO MUSIC WAS BETTER!” said one TikTok user.

Another reflected on the past: “Old Disney intro was so heavenly.”

Some commented things that I’m sure we can all relate to, like: “This is normal, what do you mea - OH MY GOD WHAT IS THIS” and “I feel very overstimulated”.

“It sounds like the villain already won," one commenter said, with another dubbing the song "out of town".

One person described the new melody as “chaotic rather than graceful".

To make matters worse, the opening images have also changed.

If you need to take a moment to cleanse your ears, then here is the original - beautiful and heavenly.

I'll be right back - me and my inner child just need 3-5 business days to recover.
