Dimension talks 'bad experiences' playing US gigs in new Worship Tour doco

He teamed up with Sub Focus, Culture Shock and 1991 to conquer the States last year

A new documentary is giving fans a rare glimpse behind the scenes of tour life for four of the biggest names in drum and bass.

Worship is a collective made up of Sub Focus, Dimension, Culture Shock & 1991.

'WORSHIP: MISSION AMERICA' follows the group’s break into the US market, playing a bunch of major shows in North America. The tour included Chicago, New York, Washington, Miami and more. It rounded out at iconic venues like the Palladium in Los Angeles and the massive festival EDC Las Vegas.

In the documentary, Dimension says: “We’re all here championing the scene that we love, and it just feels so exciting.”

These shows were monumental for the boys and signalled a significant change in dance music culture for the US. Previously, the US scene had been heavily influenced by house and dubstep, with drum and bass struggling to cut through.

Talking about his early US tours, Dimension says in the documentary: “The state of drum and bass in North America in the last two decades, it just wasn’t connecting, and it wasn’t working.

He revealed: “I had some really bad experiences. We’d done a couple of shows in the States, I’m not exaggerating, there were about 12-15 people there.”

The documentary takes us along for the whole tour, which was a massive success, and gives us a peek behind the curtain at the DJs who don't usually allow such intimate access to their lives off stage.

The tour rounds out with the guys playing EDC Las Vegas with an attendance of over 500,000 punters, and it's hectic scenes. A must-watch for drum and bass lovers everywhere!
