Defected Records and Ultra Music set to hold 'Virtual Festivals'

How good!

With the COVID-19 pandemic forcing gig cancellations and postponements worldwide, festival organisers are starting to take an alternative approach - virtual concerts.

Defected Records announced they would be streaming the first ever Defected Virtual Festival with 'no barriers, no prejudice, no VIP...everyone together on a virtual dance floor. Celebrating unity & solidarity.'

They revealed on Instagram that this Friday they will be programming 12 hours of house music on Facebook Live and YouTube.

The 12 hours will consist of classic sets, never-before-heard exclusives and brand new mixes from all of your Defected favourites. Check out the announce below.

Defected aren't the only ones getting creative. After Miami's Ultra Music Festival was postponed amid coronavirus concerns, the festival has now partnered with American broadcasting company SiriusXM to launch a UMF Radio channel set to broadcast the "Ultra Virtual Audio Festival."

The festival kicks off 10am Saturday morning, and according to a press release, the broadcast will feature exclusive live sets from acts who were originally set to play Ultra, including Major Lazer, Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, Martin Garrix and more, as well as past sets from the likes of Kygo, Marshmello, Zedd and Carl Cox.
