Creed and Limp Bizkit are putting their very short, very early-2000s beef firmly in the bin, teaming up to co-headline the huge Summer of '99 and Beyond festival in Illinois next year.

The two-day line-up lands in Tinley Park on July 18 and 19, with Limp Bizkit taking the first night and Creed closing the whole thing out at the Credit Union 1 Amphitheatre.

It is very much an American nostalgia fest, and very much not happening in New Zealand, but still cool to see two titans of the era sharing a bill without throwing shade.

Other artists on the bill include Sevendust, Puddle of Mudd, Bush, Candlebox, Hoobastank, The Verve Pipe and more. Punters will be able to bounce between two stages, the Are You Ready side stage and the Higher main stage.

As for that old feud, for those who don’t know, it was basically a classic Y2K moment. Fred Durst had a crack at Scott Stapp during a star-studded New York gig called the Dysfunctional Family Picnic, the kind of name that tells you everything about the vibe.

The two bands lobbed a few comments at each other in the press then moved on within the year, leaving it as a footnote in nu-metal lore rather than a lasting grudge. Now they’re happily sharing poster space.

One person wrote on Creed’s social media, “Funny because I’m pretty sure during the actual Summer of 99 you were feuding with Fred lol… this is awesome to see!”

If you’re planning on heading overseas or just love keeping tabs on the rock comeback circuit, general public tickets go on sale 19th December.

Creed will lift it higher, Bizkit will keep it rollin', everyone wins.
