Country Road is recalling four of their popular mugs over serious safety concerns

It affects all 'Two-Tone Demm' mugs bought over the last six months.

Country Road is recalling all four of their popular 'Two-Tone Demm' mugs over a major safety concern.

In a Facebook announcement, the retailer said: "A safety hazard has been identified in our Two-Tone Demm Mug sold from 1 November 2023 until 24 May 2024."

According to the recall notice, "a manufacturing defect in some of these mugs is causing them to break unexpectedly when filled with hot liquid."

The Country Road recalled mugs are:

Country Road Two-Tone Demm Mug

All mugs mentioned above, bought from Country Road between the 1st of November 2023 and the 24th of May 2024 are affected.

Many people are surprised this is the first time their mugs are being recalled with one Facebook user commenting: "All my country road mugs have done this over the past 2 years"

While another added: "3 of my solid navy colour with white writing have cracked and broken when boiling water poured"

If you own any of these mugs you can get a full refund. Product Safety NZ says to follow these steps: Stop using the mug immediately and return the mug to any Country Road store for a full refund or replacement.

The recall notice mentions if you have sold or gifted your mug to another person, to get in touch with Country Road customer support via email.
