If your comfort show rotation currently includes rewatching ‘The O.C.’, cracking up at ‘The Office’ or wanting to start ‘Gossip Girl’ from the beginning, there’s an update to Hayu worth knowing about.
Already home to reality TV faves like ‘The Real Housewives’, ‘Below Deck’ and ‘Vanderpump Rules’, Hayu NZ is now expanding into scripted telly and movies for the first time, too.
Starting from May 12 and rolling out over the next few weeks, Hayu’s basically trying to become the home of all our comfort watches in one spot.
Some of the biggest additions include iconic sitcoms like ‘Parks and Recreation’, ‘30 Rock’, ‘Will & Grace’ and ‘Gilmore Girls'.
There’s also dramas like ‘House’, ‘Downton Abbey’ and ‘Suits’ joining the lineup, alongside exclusive scripted releases including ‘Hacks’, ‘The Five-Star Weekend’ and ‘Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy’.
If movies are more your thing, Hayu’s adding some huge Universal titles too. We’re talking the ‘Fast & Furious’, ‘Jurassic Park’, ‘Pitch Perfect’, ‘Bridget Jones's Diary’ and ‘Mamma Mia!’ films.
Plus older classics like ‘Back to the Future’, ‘Jaws’ and ‘E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial’.
Reality TV lovers don’t need to panic, though. Hayu’s still keeping its huge lineup with episodes releasing on the same day as the US for ‘The Real Housewives’, ‘Below Deck’, ‘Summer House’ and more.
New Zealand is actually the only one of Hayu’s 45 markets getting this expansion.
Honestly, it’s probably a good excuse to reassess what I’m paying for and figure out what I actually want to keep watching.
