18-year-old Kiwi sensation Cole Davies has just gone and bloody done it, clinching his first professional title at the AMA Supercross in Philadelphia.

The young gun from Waitoki secured the Eastern Divisional 250SMX Class championship win after navigating a track that was a complete shocker.

With intermittent showers turning the dirt into a saturated, treacherous mess, Davies had to lean on every bit of that Kiwi grit to stay upright and out in front.

This win is a massive deal, marking the first time a New Zealander has claimed a title in the stateside series since Ben Townley back in 2007.

In a classic full-circle moment, Townley is now actually Davies’ mentor, helping the teenager navigate the move from small-town NZ to the bright lights of the US circuit.

Davies, who only made his pro debut at the start of 2025, was pretty emotional after the win.

“[This championship] means everything to me and my family,” Davies said.

“We’ve sacrificed everything to come over here... All the hard work, the ups and downs – it’s all worth it now. This track was treacherous, but we got it done. A dream come true”.

It’s an unreal upward trajectory for a kid who was racing back home not that long ago and has now relocated halfway across the world to chase the dream.

We’re backing you Cole, and always in ya corner - can’t wait to see what you rip into next.
