Slipknot percussionist Clown reckons the band’s long lost album Look Outside Your Window is all set to come out in 2026.
Slipknot fans have been hanging out for the long-shelved album for so long it’s basically the Bigfoot of metal albums. Every few years someone reckons it’s coming, we all get our hopes up, then boom, another delay.
The record was first knocked together back in 2008 by Clown, Corey Taylor, Jim Root and Sid Wilson while they were also making All Hope Is Gone. It was never meant to be a Slipknot album, which is probably why it has turned into this mythical side-quest no one can quite finish.
Across the years, we’ve heard everything from “it’s mixed” to “the artwork’s done” to “I might just leak it myself.” Even Clown admitted to NME that he was “happy to finally be rid of it,” which tells you how cursed the whole thing feels.
But overnight he jumped on Discord and gave fans another update. The bad news first.
“I know I told everyone it would be this year. I’m very sorry it hasn’t been,” he said. Then the new promise. “I want you to know 2026 is the year. It’s just simply time and I’m just getting tired of waiting myself. Have faith. I promise.”
For anyone expecting classic Slipknot chaos, don’t. The band themselves say it’s nothing like their usual stuff. Clown once described it as “experimental, psychedelic.” Corey has compared it to Radiohead and called the songs “super vibey, super melodic” and “very solemn, very energetic, very artistic.” In other words, it’s the curveball we’ve been waiting to hear for over a decade.
Meanwhile the band’s new drummer Eloy Casagrande says Slipknot are already cooking fresh music, swapping ideas and jamming away behind the scenes. So at least something new is guaranteed to land before 2030.
