Céline Dion cemented her music comeback on Friday by releasing a new single.

The My Heart Will Go On singer, who took a step back from music after she was diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome in 2022, released the new single Dansons - which translates to Let's Dance in English - on Friday.

The French-language ballad marks Dion's first new music since her 2019 album Courage, however, she also performed five new songs for the 2023 romance drama Love Again, in which she had a role.

The new single comes shortly after the Canadian singer announced a series of comeback concerts in Paris.

She will take up a residency at the Paris La Défense Arena for 16 shows throughout September and October. She will perform on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays beginning on 12 September.

"Over the past few years, every day that's gone by, I've felt your prayers and support, your kindness and love. You've helped me in ways that I can't even describe, and I'm truly fortunate to have your support," she said in a statement announcing her live comeback.

"This year, I'm getting the best birthday gift of my life..." she continued. "I'm getting the chance to see you, to perform for you once again in Paris, beginning in September! I'm feeling good, I'm strong, I'm feeling excited, obviously a little nervous, but most of all, I'm grateful to all of you! I love you all, and I'll see you soon!"

The 58-year-old most recently performed in the French capital during the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony, when she made an emotional return to live performance by singing Edith Piaf's Hymne à l'amour from the Eiffel Tower.

Dion gave fans an insight into her battle with stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder characterised by muscle stiffness and painful spasms, in the 2024 documentary I Am: Celine Dion.
