If you’ve ever wondered what putting a bunch of Kiwi comedians into an escape room would look like, you don’t need to guess anymore.

A new series from Three NZ is chucking seven comedians from Australia and New Zealand into a set of elaborate, cinematic escape rooms designed to test logic, teamwork, and the ability to stay calm when everything is very clearly going wrong.

The ‘Celebrity Escape’ lineup includes Celia Pacquola, Josh Thomson, Hayley Sproull, Chris Parker, Luke McGregor, Abby Howells, and Frank Woodley.

And if there’s one thing we can probably guess about this lot, it’s that things will go wrong… fast.

Each episode, the group is locked into a fully themed room packed with puzzles, clues, and distractions. They’ve gotta solve their way out together - and if you’ve ever done an escape room with your mates, you’ll know it’s a HUGE relationship tester.

Something tells me the pressure is gonna bring out some chaos we haven’t seen from this lot before.

Watching over it all is Aussie TV host and Games Master Rove McManus.

According to Three NZ, Rove will “watch from his Control Room, ready to intervene with panic buttons, strategic Gifts, or theatrical Wraths”.

After each challenge, the comedians don’t just move on - they face elimination.

One person is voted out of the game, and that person joins Rove upstairs to take part in the hilarious commentary.

“It’s high-stakes puzzle solving colliding with big personalities and even bigger reactions. You’ll solve clues from the sofa. They’ll argue about them,” Three NZ says.

If you’re known for yelling at the screen during quiz shows, just wait til this one hits our screens.

‘Celebrity Escape’ is set for release in June.
