Dina Asher-Smith is the fastest woman in Britain - but can she run quicker than a new super-fast mobile plan?

The sprint champion loves her music, and a high-tempo playlist with all her favourites including Beyoncé, Dave, Skepta and Kendrick Lamar is a training must-have.

And with a need for mobile download speeds that match her pace on the track, who better to put Vodafone's new SuperMobile plan through the ultimate speed test?

The challenge was simple: could Vodafone SuperMobile download Dina's 150-track training playlist before she completed a 200 metre sprint?

Powered by Vodafone's 5G+ FastTrack and boasting speeds up to four times faster than standard plans, Vodafone SuperMobile downloaded the lengthy playlist, containing around 9 hours of music, in just 21.2 seconds. That's enough music to soundtrack an entire flight to Mumbai or Barbados, or a full day at work and the commute home.

And not only did it beat Dina to the finish line, but it was also quicker than the record-setting 21.88 seconds she ran to win gold at the 2019 Athletics World Championships.

Dina said, "As a sprinter, every second counts, so I was genuinely impressed that Vodafone SuperMobile managed to beat me! Speed is obviously a huge part of my life, both on and off the track, and music plays a big role in my training and getting me ready to run fast. Whether I'm downloading a playlist or sharing training videos on the go, I want my mobile plan to keep up."

A Vodafone spokesperson said, "If you're going to test Vodafone SuperMobile, you need someone who knows a thing or two about speed. Dina is the fastest British woman ever, making her the perfect person to take on our new super-fast mobile plan."

Vodafone SuperMobile gives customers speeds up to four times faster than standard plans, along with guaranteed minimum speeds, helping customers spend less time waiting and more time doing when network demand is high."

Super fast speeds aren't just in demand for Olympians, as 63% of the nation say they value fast, reliable connectivity more than ever. That includes connecting with friends and family (32%), entertainment such as streaming TV, films and music (30%), staying connected on the go (25%) or working or studying from home (15%).

The research from Vodafone proves just how important connectivity is in our day-to-day lives, with sluggish speeds stopping people in their tracks. More than a quarter of Brits (26%) say they get frustrated when payments won't process, buffering maps leave them lost (21%), videos won't play (19%) and playlists won't download (10%) thanks to subpar connection.

And those precious seconds can mean missing out, with two in five (40%) saying they have lost out on something important because their connection was too slow, including 14% who have missed out on online shopping deals or items selling out, food delivery slots (11%), appointments (10%) and even festival tickets (9%).

Powered by the UK's fastest 5G+ network, Vodafone SuperMobile combines faster speeds, guaranteed minimum speeds, and advanced security in a single mobile experience designed around performance, reliability and peace of mind - helping customers stay connected at speed, wherever the race takes them.
