Britney Spears' son changes name on social media after reunion

Britney Spears' son has changed his name on social media after the pair recently reunited.

In late March, Britney revealed she had been spending more time with her sons, Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, sharing a photo of the trio posing together on a boat.

Britney shares Sean and Jayden with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.

Since posting the image on Instagram, fans noticed that Sean appears to have updated his handle to Sean P Spears, dropping his father's surname. He has not publicly addressed the change.

The development follows reports that Britney, 44, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) in March. The Gimme More hitmaker was detained by the California Highway Patrol near her home on 5 March.

Shortly afterwards, Britney returned to social media to thank fans for their support during the difficult time, while also revealing she had been reconnecting with her children after time apart.

"Thank you guys for all your support... spending time with family and friends is such a blessing !!!" she wrote in a recent Instagram post. "Stay kind !!!"

A representative also told People and Sean and Jayden are "going to be spending time" with the hitmaker following her arrest.

"Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well being," the rep continued. "This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable."

Kevin was granted sole legal and physical custody of their sons following his divorce from Britney in 2007 after three years of marriage.
