'King of the world' or 'a joke'? Boxing Fans react to Tyson Fury's return

The "Gypsy King" is officially back. Again.
Just when we thought Tyson Fury had finally hung up the gloves for good following those back-to-back losses to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024, the 37-year-old has pulled a classic U-turn.
Confirmed today by the chairman of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority and president of the Saudi Boxing Federation, Turki Alalshikh, Fury will face off against the heavy-hitting Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11.
No venue has been confirmed for the fight, but it will be globally streamed live on Netflix.
The internet, as you’d expect, is taking the news with a healthy dose of scepticism.
"How many times is bro gonna come out of retirement 💀," one fan asked, while another reckons retirement is the two-time world champion’s favourite "negotiation tactic."
Some are calling it the fight “absolutely nobody wants to watch!”
But, there are also some excited fans, saying “let’s goo baby!”, with others welcoming back “King of the World”.
Before the two defeats to Usyk, he was sitting at 34 wins and one draw.
If he gets past Makhmudov, there are speculations of a massive bout (and payday) against Anthony Joshua or Fabio Wardley.
Boxing fans took to Reddit to get analytical about the matchup.
“Chances are it won't be a FOTY candidate, but I'll watch it,” said one fan.
Some see it as a “smart choice” for a comeback, while others are calling it a “joke”, arguing that Fury is “past it”.
The best comment of the day by far was this one: “The plot is lost - coming from a 14-yr-old.”
So, what do ya reckon? Good choice, or rookie mistake?
