West Auckland’s finest Blindspott have cancelled their November 7 show at Auckland's Powerstation after frontman Damian suffered a serious vascular health issue.

The band shared the news in a statement on Instagram last night, revealing Damian experienced the health issue last week and will need time to recover, along with ongoing specialist care.

Thankfully, he's doing well and is being looked after.

"He's doing well and is in good hands, and is incredibly grateful to the team at Auckland Hospital for the care he's received," the band shared.

Unfortunately, it means Blindspott's upcoming Powerstation gig has been cancelled rather than postponed, with ticket holders set to receive information about refunds.

The band's highly anticipated upcoming album has also been put on hold until Damian gets the medical all-clear to return to the studio and stage to finish the record.

For now, the focus is firmly on getting him back to full health.

"Damian wants to thank everyone who has reached out and checked in on him. He's incredibly grateful for the support and is focused on getting well."

The band made it clear that there's nothing more important than looking after their mate.

"As a band and a family, Damian's health and wellbeing are our absolute priority. We're all behind him and wishing our brother a full and speedy recovery."

A tough bit of news for Blindspott and their fans, but gigs and albums can wait.

Sending plenty of love to Damian and the Blindspott whānau.
