Black Sabbath’s Back to the Beginning gig to stream on pay-per-view globally

You can buy a ticket to the global stream now.

Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne’s final concert is set to be streamed via pay-per-view so fans around the world can witness the iconic event.

Taking place at Birmingham’s Villa Park on Saturday 5th July, the gig that sold-out in minutes will see Ozzy Osbourne and all of the original Black Sabbath members unite with an insane line-up of rock artists for one hell of a send off.

Black Sabbath announced over the weekend that the gig will be available to watch online in a pay-per-view format.

For us here in New Zealand, tickets cost $50NZD and are available to buy on the official Back to the Beginning website.

The stream is billed as a ‘live’ stream, but will begin two hours after the Villa Park in-arena start time - meaning here in New Zealand, it’ll start at 2am on Sunday 6th July. However, it will be available to watch multiple times until 48 hours later, so thankfully, we can still watch it while not having to wake up at 2am.

"We had such an overwhelming demand from fans from around the globe, who couldn't get tickets to the show, and they took to social media, pleading with us to broadcast a livestream of the show,” says Sharon Osbourne.

“Being this is such a historic event, we just couldn't let them down."

The stream will be filmed and produced by Mercury Studios, the same team who are working on the forthcoming Metallica documentary Metallica Saved My Life.

"You may not be at Villa Park, but you’ll feel every moment like you are. This is a premium, pay-per-view rock theatre — live, loud, and unforgettable," says an official description.

Metallica, Tool, Guns N’ Roses, Pantera and Alice In Chains are just some of the huge bands set to play the farewell gig, as well as Fred Durst, Chad Smith, Billy Vorgan, Wolfgang Van Halen and SO much more.

I don’t know about you - but that’s my plans sussed for Sunday 6th July.
