The dystopian, sci-fi anthology series is set to return to Netflix for another season of mind-fucks and really crazy shit.
There isn't a whole lot of info on the new season out yet, with no release date and conflicting reports on how many episodes there will be. What we do know for sure though, is that we'll be watching more seriously wild stuff.
Variety reports "that the latest season is even more cinematic in scope, with each installment being treated as individual films". This is good to hear for fans of the show, but isn't necessarily news as plenty of Black Mirror episodes are over an hour long and take the viewer on mental adventures and mind-bending, even depressing, scenarios.
Creator of the show Charlie Brooker, talking to U.K's Radio Times, said that during the height of COVID he didn't think a new season of the show was worth pursuing as he didn't think audiences would be too keen on the type of innovative, dark tales the show presents.
"I don't know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart", Brooker said. Who knows where Black Mirror will go for its sixth season. They've covered everything from a prime minister fucking a pig, an Uber driver taking people hostage, robot bees killing people, having glasses that contain every memory you've ever had, and loads more off the wall plots. We'll definitely be tuning in for the next set of unhinged episodes.
