"Don't say yes, don't say no."
If there's one video you watch today, make sure it's this.
A video titled "Be A Lady, They Said" was posted online yesterday by 'Girls. Girls. Girls. Magazine.' and quickly went viral for it's powerful message about being a woman.
The video, which has already been viewed over 2 million times, features Sex And The City's Cynthia Nixon who reads a piece of writing that was first published in 2017.
"Be a lady they said. Your skirt is too short. Your shirt is too low. Your pants are too tight. Don't show so much skin. Don't show your thighs. Don't show your breasts. Don't show your midriff."
"Don't show your cleavage. Don't show your underwear. Don't show your shoulders. Cover up. Leave something to the imagination. Dress modestly. Don't be a temptress. Men can't control themselves. Men have needs. You look frumpy. Loosen up. Show some skin. Look sexy. Look hot."
The story deals with the idea of 'double bind' a.k.a damned if you do, damned if you don't, that women face on a daily basis.
