Jackass is officially heading back to cinemas, with Johnny Knoxville confirming a fifth film will land in late June. Naturally, the big question followed straight after, what does this mean for Bam Margera?

Bam was famously cut from Jackass Forever after violating a sobriety clause in his contract - a situation that spiralled into legal action and years of very public fallout. Since the Jackass 5 announcement, rumours have swirled about whether he’d be back in any capacity.

Now, Bam’s cleared that up himself.

Speaking to TMZ in an on-the-street interview, Margera confirmed he has signed a deal allowing old footage of him to be used in the film, but he won’t be filming anything new.

“They did ask me. They said we’re going to sift through a lot of old footage to try to create something new and I said, ‘Hell yeah, go for it,’” Margera said. “I remember filming so much crazy shit that never made it to the movie.”

While he’s okay with that arrangement, it’s clear the emotional scars are still there. Bam spoke openly about the impact of being removed from Jackass Forever, saying, “I have a lot of PTSD from it all… the humiliation, the abandonment and just the embarrassment of it all.”

He also made it clear he has no plans to reunite with the crew for fresh stunts: “As far as I know, I don’t have to film anything new and I don’t want to,” he said.

When asked about squashing things with Johnny Knoxville and director Jeff Tremaine, Bam didn’t sugar-coat it. “My feelings to them are still fuck you,” he said.

The upside is that Bam appears to be in a better place personally, back skating and happily married.

Jackass 5 might not be a full reunion, but for fans, seeing even a slice of classic Bam feels like something.
