Rumours are swirling that Ozzy Osbourne’s final gig - Back to the Beginning - could become a yearly event to honour the Prince of Darkness.

The show, held just 17 days before Ozzy passed away, was a massive moment for rock fans. It brought together the original Black Sabbath line-up along with a bunch of other huge metal acts, all sharing the stage in Birmingham at Villa Park.

Now, Ozzy’s company, Monowise Ltd, has made an application to trademark ‘Back to the Beginning’ in the US for live entertainment and merch - with plans to do the same in the UK, Mirror reports.

Legal documents filed by the firm have registered the name under “entertainment services in the nature of live musical performance.”

This has fans thinking… could this be the start of an annual memorial gig celebrating one of rock’s greatest frontmen?

The original concept raised millions of dollars for charity, with all proceeds split between Acorns Children’s Hospice, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Cure Parkinson’s - all causes close to the Osbourne’s hearts.

Back to the Beginning originally came about after Ozzy had to cancel his last set of farewell tour dates with Judas Priest in early 2023, after battling a bunch of health issues. This prompted Ozzy’s wife Sharon to organise the thing Ozzy always wanted: one last chance to thank his fans.

The journey to the final gig is all captured in the new Paramount+ documentary Ozzy Osbourne: No Escape From Now.

If Ozzy’s final gig does become an annual memorial event, it could be an epic way to keep his legacy alive and continue to celebrate one of the best to ever do it.
