Axl Rose threw a bit of a tantrum onstage at Guns N’ Roses’ Argentina show over the weekend.

At the beginning of the set, the GnR frontman came out in a huff, booting drummer Isaac Carpenter’s kit, hurling his mic, and storming offstage, before returning to the crowd at Buenos Aires’ 50,000-capacity stadium.

It’s a sight we haven’t seen for a while, considering how mellow Axl’s been since Slash and Duff McKagan reunited with the band in 2016. In recent years, the ‘new Axl’ has been showing up to shows on time and has been keeping the on-stage crash-outs to a minimum.

But on this particular night, something went sideways right from the first song, Welcome to The Jungle

It was obvious from the moment he charged up the stage stairs that Axl was frustrated - after kicking Carpenter’s bass drum, the opening song finished and the frontman threw his microphone in the direction of the drumkit, before taking off his jacket and storming off the stage.

When Axl returned to the stage, he told the crowd, “I’ll just try wing this.”

Turns out, the reason Axl wasn’t having it was because of technical difficulties. The frontman ‘could only hear percussion instruments’ in his earpiece, a source told The Daily Mail

The crew reportedly sorted the tech issue by the third song - Mr Brownstone - and the show went on without a hitch, with Axl delivering a 29-song-set alongside his GnR bandmates.

While we haven’t seen an angry on-stage Axl in a while, I think we can all agree this tantrum was pretty tame compared to some of his past blow-ups…
