"This is honestly my nightmare."

An Aussie mum has gone viral on TikTok for all the wrong reasons after letting her kids wreak havoc in Kmart - and calling it a “hack.”

Influencer Lauren Grapes shared a clip of her day out with her two kids under two at the store.

“A little life hack if you have toddlers and you don’t know what to do today… Kmart,” she said.

“Unlimited toys, let them run wild and then just clean up the toys after,” Lauren added, before panning the camera to her kids pulling toys off shelves and blocking the aisle.

The video has been viewed close to a million times and racked up more than 1,800 comments - most of them not impressed by the so-called life hack.

Kmart staff, childcare workers, and frustrated parents jumped in to slam Lauren for encouraging the chaos.

“As a Kmart employee - PLEASE DON’T DO THIS!!” one person wrote.

“Every worker low-key HATES to see you coming,” added another.

A childhood educator said: “Teacher here… this will stimulate their mind to think that any shop with toys is to be treated this way (play and dump). Instead, teach them to respect toys and the shop’s items and go play at a park or play centre x.”

“OMG, this is honestly my nightmare, Kmart is not a daycare centre 😂🫣,” a fourth had to clarify.

Someone else was blunt: “You’re so entitled, oh my God.”

Others pointed out that any damage caused to toys could end up affecting customers who buy and take them home, OR the store has to bin them and create unnecessary waste.

Though, there was a comment asking, "This is rage bait, right?!". And while we aren't certain, there could be a level of sarcasm involved.

Safe to say, there are plenty of ways to keep your kids entertained… and the Kmart toy aisle definitely isn’t one of them.
