Aussie comedy 'Kath & Kim' set to get a reboot 15 years later

Are the ladies of Fountain Lakes back?

Time to "Look at Moi" - Kath & Kim are heading back to the TV screens!

According to Woman's Day in Australia, the infamous 2000s series featuring the dysfunctional mother and daughter duo is set to return next year via a streaming platform.

The Melbourne home that was used as the main location during the series' filming has been visited by crew members in recent weeks, neighbours say.

"It was unimaginable neighbours could keep TV's biggest secret under wraps much longer," the source told the magazine.

It's believed that the reboot is already in pre-production, and that an official announcement will be made later this month.

An 2016 interview with Gina Riley, who played Kim in the series, showed Gina's extreme reluctance to reviving the cult classic series.

After previously saying she was '95 per cent done' with the character of Kim, Gina confessed it had gone up to '98 per cent now'.

"Look at me now. I'm not sure I can play 25 and five quarters any more,"she said to news.com.au at the time.

Jane Turner, who played Kath, previously told TV Week that while she was open to a reunion, things 'would be very different now'.

"There would always be funny new trends and things Kath and Kim could put their spin on, which would be fun to do," she said.

The original Kath & Kim series ran from 2002 to 2007, while their last feature together was in the movie 'Kath & Kimderella' back in 2012.
