English singer-songwriter, actress and longest serving member of girl group Atomic Kitten Liz McClarnon, has announced she is expecting her first baby.
After experiencing two miscarriages last year, the ‘Whole Again’ singer, who is 44, has opened up about her emotional pregnancy journey.
McClarnon told the Daily Mirror that she and husband Peter Cho, who married in 2023, started IVF early in their relationship.
They had three failed embryo transfers in 2022, and experienced two miscarriages in 2024.
"I said I was done after the last one, and Peter was absolutely on board with that. He didn't say anything other than, 'This is your body and I'll support whatever you decide you want,' which was a huge thing for me," McClarnon said.
"I felt so bad emotionally, it was really tough."
But then, spending the Christmas holiday with family "helped me heal".
"The whole process made me truly appreciate that having a baby is a miracle," she said.
"There are so, so many things that need to happen correctly for someone to get pregnant, and for that to result in a healthy baby."
“I’m just here living my fabulous little life, I didn’t think people would care. But I think IVF is something that a lot of people can relate to - maybe more than we realise.”
When Liz announced her pregnancy, she took to social media to post: “I’ve been keeping a secret from you, and I’ve mostly kept myself off social media because sometimes it was hard to smile.”
“But after years of sometimes quite painful IVF and dark times, I’m pregnant! We feel like we’ve been given the world.”
Congratulations Liz!
