Ariana Grande tears up at final Eternal Sunshine Tour concert

Ariana Grande became emotional as she wrapped up her The Eternal Sunshine Tour on Tuesday night.

Addressing concertgoers at the final gig held at The O2 Arena in London, the music superstar insisted that performing all 41 shows as part of the trek has been an "extraordinary experience".

"I just want to say thank you so much," she began. "This has been such an extraordinary experience. Thank you for 10 beautiful London shows and for 41 incredible Eternal Sunshine Tour shows."

Ariana then appeared to choke back tears as she reflected on the way she's been able to "connect" with fans over the past two months.

"This has been one of the most beautiful, extraordinary experiences of my life and I just want to express my gratitude without sobbing completely," the 33-year-old continued. "But really, thank you from the bottom of my heart; it's been so special and I'll cherish this experience always and I have the best fans in the entire world and I always have. And I love your outfits, I love your faces, I love seeing you, I love connecting with you in this way."

And to conclude, Ariana thanked all of the fans for attending her gigs and listening to her music.

"Thank you for all of your effort for making this so special. All your messages and your costumes and your wardrobe and makeup is just so beautiful. I have loved every minute of this with you all and I just want to make sure I express how grateful I am. Thank you and I love you so much," she smiled.

Last month, the Hate That I Made You Love Me star announced that she would be taking a hiatus after she completed the tour to rest and recharge.

"Human beings can need a break sometimes," the Break Free singer said at a concert in Chicago, Illinois. "No matter what noises exist out there, nothing will ever be able to distort my reality or be more real to me or louder to me than this love that we share in this room. Or how it feels to make art with the people that I love and respect. Absolutely nothing will change that or distort that for me."

Ariana released her eighth studio album, Petal, at the end of July.
