Apple has released the most exciting update since being able to take 0.5 pics with their new IOS 18 teasing AI features all throughout the iPhone.
Apple is partnering with Genertative AI, to merge Chat GPT into Siri, so when the virtual assistant can't do something, it'll ask your permission to use Chat GPT to find a better answer.
When prompted, Siri will be able to look through your emails, texts, and photos to find specific information. For example, if you need to fill in a form online, it will search your photos to get your driver's license, pull out your license number, and stick it into a web form for you.
If you've always felt a bit cringe talking to Siri in public, you'll now be able to type your request, basically like Chat GPT but it will be able to use your information to help give you better answers.
If you have that one friend who loves to send multiple messages at once, Siri can now summarise them all in short for you - a game changer for those of us who don't have the time to read a lengthy chain.
One change that has been a long time coming, you'll soon be able to schedule texts! Now there's no excuse for forgetting to reply in the family group chat.
One we teased recently has been officially revealed - Genmoji. You'll now be able to create any emoji you can imagine, which sounds like a blessing but could be concerning with the Internet.
Apple announced the feature "will generate emoji-like reactions on the fly so that when you can't find the one you want."
Finally, Apple has caught up to Google with AI, by giving us their version of a Magic Eraser, the ability to erase a person from a photo.
I'm sure I wasn't the only one with concerns about Apple having access to a bunch of our personal information - especially the notes folder - but they've promised to keep 'on-device information' private
It all sounds super exciting and we're here for it, HOWEVER, we doubt we'll even have enough space on our phone for an update that sounds this chunky.
