Married At First Sight AU has been all about the D-R-A-M-A so far this season. From secret girlfriends to dinner party explosions, a lot has been laid out on the table and we are eating it all up.
What we didn't expect though, was for there to be not one, but TWO contestants who have dumped their relationships to be on the show.
Yep, move aside Jack Dunkley because another MAFS AU 2024 participant has brought a plot twist to the scene.
Apparently, bride Ellie Dix wasn't exactly riding solo before signing up for the experiment.
According to SoDramatic!, she was actually in a relationship for a solid four months before deciding to say her 'I dos' on telly.
Insiders spilled that Ellie openly admitted this to her on-screen hubby Ben Walters during their honeymoon confessions box task, but that was conveniently left out of the final cut we saw. Interesting.
"She said it on camera, but they never showed it," the source said.
Another insider dished that Ellie wasn't just looking for love on MAFS, she was looking for her time in the spotlight.
"Ellie openly said before going on the show that she was going on because she wanted fame," the insider said. "She wants to go out and do her own cosmetics business."
It's not unusual for many participants to leave the show and go on to become influencers after the show is all wrapped up, so we can't say we're surprised to hear yet another contestant was looking to gain some status.
But Ellie? Really? The girl definitely had me fooled!
The source also revealed that Ellie tried her luck on another Aussie dating show 'Love Triangle' before landing her spot on MAFS.
Look, at least her previous relo hasn't come back to haunt her quite like Jack's. But I assume Ellie didn't call things off by saying she was moving overseas just to ditch her partner for the show. so she's in the clear for now!
