Fred Again has finished his little trip Down Under and he's done an Instagram wrap-up post to thank our mates across the Tasman.
In the post, Fred says that Aussies have been sliding in his DMs since day dot and that one of his best mates - who helped with all three of his albums - is an Aussie.
"When I first started releasing music like 3 years ago the country I saw in my DMs i think more than any other was Australia," Fred wrote in the post's caption.
"My best friend in the whole world big hen, aka @joyanonymous who worked on all 3 actual life albums with me, is from Australia. So yeah I feel hugely indebted to Australia in every aspect of the music."
"Finally getting the chance to play here has been an absolute dream. And I cannot wait to come back!!" he finished.
It sounds like Fred's time in Australia was relatively straightforward compared to his time in Aotearoa, which involved him possibly not even making it in, eventually arriving at 1 am to a hero's welcome, having to cancel a show due to the Auckland flooding before playing a bunch of chess and doing a pub quiz with Wellingtonians.
Surprise shows seem to be a bit of a signature Fred move. He did one at Wellington's 121 club to raise funds for the Auckland floods, and over in Aussie he did a couple "announce on the day" shows in Sydney and Melbourne.
Fred said the surprise shows have a "specialllll energy" to them and having jealously watched a bajillion clips of them, I'd have to agree.
One of the most well-known surprise show he did was at the start of the year. Joining Skrillex, and Four Tet, Fred killed it in front of 3,000 people at London's Brixton Electric nightclub. He gave one of the ravers a USB containing loads of IDs and edits. That raver eventually put those online for all to enjoy.
