Amy Lee has officially confirmed what Evanescence fans have been quietly manifesting since about 2021. A brand new album is on the way, and it’s landing in early 2026.
Speaking with KROQ over the weekend, Lee gave a tidy update on where things are at with the follow-up to The Bitter Truth.
“[It’ll be out] next year,” Lee said. “[I] have a few more lyrics to write but it’s going very well, I’m really excited about it.”
That lines up with what she told Loudwire a few months back at the Louder Than Life festival, where she said the band was deep in the process and starting to see the finish line.
“I’ve been working on a new album for awhile,” Lee revealed. “We’re really kind of rounding the corner. We have a lot of songs in progress and we’re looking to release our new album at the beginning of next year.”
She later clarified that “the beginning” doesn’t mean January, but sometime early in 2026.
The band shared two songs this year, ‘Afterlife,’ which was featured in the soundtrack for Netflix’s video game series Devil May Cry, and ‘Fight Like a Girl’ with K.Flay. Amy Lee also teamed up with Poppy and Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante on End of You earlier this year.
And for Kiwi fans, the timing couldn’t feel better. Evanescence were just here opening for Metallica in New Zealand last month, and Amy Lee absolutely owned every second of it.
There’s also a world tour locked in from April til October next year, with support from Poppy, Spiritbox, K.Flay and Nova Twins on select dates. No New Zealand dates for that, though.
Keen to hear the new album once it’s out!
