Amanda Seyfried joins Sharon Stone in Martha & Muhammad

Amanda Seyfried is set to star opposite Ramy Youssef and Sharon Stone in Martha & Muhammad.

The Oscar nominee is joining the comedy that marks Youssef's feature directorial debut, Deadline reports.

Youssef is directing from his own script.

According to Playlist, the story follows a wealthy, white widowed New York socialite, played by Sharon Stone, who develops an unexpected relationship with a much younger Muslim man, played by Ramy Youssef. The film explores themes of class, religion, immigration and age gaps. Other plot and character details are being kept under wraps for now.

Seyfried is currently starring in the most talked-about film of the moment, Nathan Fielder's Elizabeth Holmes documentary You Can See Everything. The film has topped out at the box office and is already garnering Oscar buzz.

The Mamma Mia! star, who recently wrapped production on the musical feature Octet, spends her downtime on her farm in upstate New York, where she cares for numerous animals including goats, donkeys, peacocks and emus.

"It's just making sure that we're keeping everything as consistent as possible as the weather changes for the animals. It seems so intuitive, and it doesn't feel to me like it's a lot of work," Seyfried told WWD from the farm. "Nature takes ownership of its transition."
