Alanis Morissette has come out as pansexual.
The Ironic singer made the revelation during the latest episode of the Handsome podcast co-hosted by Tig Notaro, Fortune Feimster and Mae Martin.
Towards the end of the segment, Feimster told the singer, "I'm sorry for the men that hurt you, but I'm not sorry for the songs that came from it," adding, "Did it make you want to be a lesbian at any point?"
Morissette answered, "I'm pansexual, so, yeah."
To this, Notaro interjected, "Wait, you're not really pansexual, are you?"
"I am," clarified Morissette.
Pansexuality can be defined as a sexual, romantic, or emotional attraction to people regardless of their gender identity or sex.
When the hosts joked that she should have started the podcast with this news, Morissette quipped, "I like to leave it for the epilogue."
The Canadian singer-songwriter has been married to husband Mario 'Souleye' Treadway since 2010. They are parents to Ever, 15, Onyx, 10, and Winter, seven.
Morissette found fame in 1995 with her album Jagged Little Pill, which became one of the defining records of the decade. It was adapted into a Broadway musical in 2019, for which she won two Tony Awards.
This year, Morissette was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
