Thursday night saw another instalment of the annual Findex New Zealand Wanaka Agribusiness Dinner. As always, the Rural Exchange team was proud to be a part of it

Findex Agribusiness Partner, Alistair King, who specialises in viticulture and horticulture, was also at the dinner and joined Hamish McKay and Rebecca Greaves for a chat about the evening alongside some of the important work they do to support the Rural Sector.

"The dinner was lots of fun. It's always good to get all of our Agri-clients together and was great to have the REX team there as well as our fantastic guest speaker Laura Koot from the Fairlight Foundation".

King said that the growing season in Central Otago has fared well compared to other regions.

"We've been lucky compared to some of the North Island, its been a great season so far. It's been hot and dry, but we've had plenty of water as well which makes us pretty lucky this time around."

On the East Coast, King says the impact of Cyclone Gabrielle will affect everyone in the sector.

"It affects everyone in the industry, maybe not property-wise for us in the South Island but certainly in respect to the market. It's concerning for everybody"
