Aacacia's new single 'Runaway' is out now, coming hot on the heels of her feature on Firefly - a collaboration with Drax Project and Fetty Wap. Take a listen above or get to know her more below.
Where do you call home? I've lived in so many different places around New Zealand, that for me - home is made up of the people that I'm surrounded by. I was brought up in Taupo though, so that's somewhere I like to call home too.
What inspired your song 'Runaway'? I think the biggest inspiration was just this frustration of not being able to escape somewhere that I felt was holding me back. That feeling was so vivid that it was really easy to pull inspiration from.
What's your proudest musical moment? I mean the two biggest ones would have to be releasing my first song because that was a huge milestone for me as I wanted to do it for so long. Then also doing my own set with my own band when I opened for Drax Project a couple of months ago - that was a MASSIVE achievement for me.
What's a Kiwi song you're loving at the moment? It's a bit of a tie between TEEKS - Without You and Niko Walters - Not My Neighbour.
What's one artist you would love to collaborate with? Again I have more than one... I would probably have to choose between Sinéad Harnett, Burna Boy, and TEEKS.
