A Perfect Circle

A Perfect Circle have dropped their first new song in eight years, with ‘Starless’ officially landing ahead of the band’s long-awaited return to New Zealand later this year.

It’s been a decent stretch between drinks for APC fans. Since reforming back in 2010, the band’s only released one full album, 2018’s Eat the Elephant. But now we’ve finally got fresh APC music, and thankfully, ‘Starless’ sounds exactly like you’d hope it would. Dark, moody and just a little bit unsettling in the best possible way.

“Absolutely chuffed to debut this new track onstage in the U.K.,” Keenan said. “Of course I’m excited to release the recordings, but our songs always take on an expanded personality once we start playing them live."

Billy Howerdel said the song came together unusually quickly too.

“Some songs get kicked around and massaged for years,” he explained. “But once in a while, one takes shape quickly, as if it had been there all along."

The Morning Rumble’s Bryce spoke with Maynard back in September last year (2025), where he hinted more APC work was brewing. Turns out, he wasn’t lying.

Even better, A Perfect Circle are finally coming back to New Zealand for the first time in more than 20 years, hitting Spark Arena in Auckland on Sunday, 13 December 2026.
