"The Bloke's an idiot" Paul Gallen rips into Sonny Bill Williams ahead of fight

Paul Gallen didn't hold back on his thoughts of Sonny Bill Williams while talking with The Morning Rumble.

Paul Gallen isn’t holding back his thoughts on Sonny Bill Williams ahead of their long-awaited fight.

Talking with The Morning Rumble, Gallen said he’s eager to get in the ring on July 16th, and “finally, sort out the beef”.

“I think the bloke’s an absolute flog, to be honest. I’ve got no further respect for him in any way possible,” Gallen said. “I don’t like the bloke at all… It’s gonna be good to finally sort out the beef. Not that there’s real beef. I just don’t like the bloke — he’s just an idiot.”

While Sonny Bill Williams had success both in rugby union and league, Gallen says the switch between codes just shows “how low the bloke is”.

”To walk out on the Bulldogs the way he did, back in, um, you know, 2007 or eight, whenever he did it like that, that just goes to show the person he's there, he's all that himself,” Gallen said.

“ He goes and flurries himself around rugby union for a couple of years, then tries to come back to rugby league, and he was just a shadow of himself.”

One of the talking points to come out of the long-awaited fight was the 2-minute rounds, something Sonny Bill has said was because Gallen refused drug testing, however, he said that wasn’t the case.

He’s looking for an excuse,” Gallen fired back. “That’s his excuse — the bloke’s a coward. He just is. It goes to show how low he is, to be honest. He’s a piece of shit.”

Last week, Sonny Bill Williams also joined The Morning Rumble to speak of the fight, saying it’s been a long time coming.

“It's kind of been, like I said in the last interview, he's like an annoying mosquito that you just wanna, you know, so now it's time to get that slap on."

“He's riled me up and now we are here,” Williams continued.  “I’m just training hard. I wanna punch his face.”
