Eight New Zealand restaurants are now among the world's top 1000 fine-dining experiences according to the prestigious La Liste.

La Liste determines its rankings by crunching data from thousands of publications and millions of reviews online to compare the best against the best.

So, let's raise a glass to New Zealand securing eight fine dining spots highlighted in the coveted list.

New Zealand restaurants on La Liste:

1. The French café - Auckland Leading the pack is The French Café in Auckland, landing 309th spot worldwide with a stellar score of 94.5.

Sid at The French Café is an independently owned, family-run, and serving up contemporary New Zealand cuisine.

This isn't the only achievement the restaurant received this year, the restaurant has a long list of accolades including three hats and a score of 19/20 at the 2023 Cuisine NZ Good Food Awards.

2. Amisfield - Queenstown With a score of 88 Amisfield is making Central Otago proud.

According to their website, Amisfield's goal is to "create dishes that represent the work of a small group of fisherman, hunters, gatherers and farmers."

Also, a three-hatted restaurant, Amisfield won the American Express Restaurant of the Year 2023/2024 Cuisine Good Food Awards.

3. Paris Butter - Auckland Scoring 87, the Auckland neighbourhood fine-dining restaurant celebrated its achievement on Instagram, writing: "We are thrilled to be announced as one of the @laliste1000 top 1000 restaurants in the world for the first time."

Pacifica in Napier (86), Logan Brown in Wellington (86), Auckland's Cocoro (84.5) and Ahi (83) join Don Alfonso at Helena Bay (78) all rocking impressive scores on La Liste.
