If you think the craziest way to spend a day at Disneyland California is riding Space Mountain, try eating your way through the park.
Between the churros, character-shaped carbs and neon-coloured mystery liquids - the food game is truly next level.
I spent one glorious (and slightly queasy) week putting my digestive system on the line to taste the weirdest, wildest, and most wonderful eats the park has to offer.
I happened to be there as Disneyland launched a whole new range of memorable snacks for their 70th Anniversary celebrations at the original Anaheim location - so some of these are limited until August 2026.

Here’s my top 10 must-eat Disneyland snacks:
70th Celebration Ube Churro | Town Square
The classic Disneyland churro rolled in ube (purple yam) sugar with a drizzle of blue raspberry icing and rainbow sprinkles.
The ube added an earthy, almost vanilla-like flavour. I wasn’t the only one tempted, either - Daisy Duck came running over to sneak a look at the purple sugar.

70th Celebration Mocha Cream Puff with Chocolate-Dipped Corn Chips | Rancho Del Zocolo
A confusing yet surprisingly mouth watering combo. Sweet puff pastry filled with mocha cream, topped with actual corn chips dipped in chocolate. It shouldn't work, but somehow it does.

Star Wars Cold Brew with Cocoa Puffs | Oga’s Cantina
This was genuinely the one thing I was adamant about hunting down. And what an experience ordering from the intergalactic Oga's Cantina and walking out to a HUGE Millennium Falcon.
It’s a cold brew coffee layered with sweet cream cheese foam and a literal handful of Cocoa Puffs.
Honestly, it might just be my Kiwi roots talking from scoffing down a bowl of Milo cereal every morning, but I could have done another 5 cups on the spot. No exaggeration.

Blue ‘Bantha’ Milk | Milk Stand at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
An iconic Star Wars staple. It’s coconut-rice milk blended with a ‘fruity zing’, and yes, it’s VERY blue. It might not be for everyone, and I must admit I was questioning every sip, but if you’ve ever wanted to feel like you live on Tatooine, this’ll do it.
There was another option, which was green and tropical-flavoured, but I had to follow the crowd, and by that I mean one of my travel buddies, who quite literally wouldn’t let us leave the park without getting one.

Frito Chilli Pie in a Chip Bag
They cracked open a mini bag of Fritos corn chips and poured in a nacho - or as the Americans say, chilli - mix, cheese, and onions. I mean, it tasted like you’d expect nachos in a bag to taste, but it got a 10/10 for presentation, being fun to eat and easy clean up when your belly is full.

Mickey-Shaped Pretzel with Cheese Dip
Simple. Iconic. Need I say more? The only thing that let this down for me was the aggressively American cheese dipping sauce…
Not one to waste, I concocted the brilliant idea of mixing in a sachet of hot mustard, which you can find everywhere, by the way!
Modifying the sauce took the classic to a top-tier snacking choice in between rides. Just make sure you have something to quench your thirst alongside it, because these things are SALTY.

Birria Toastie | Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe
A bready take on the viral birria taco - but in toastie form. Gooey pepper jack cheese, melt-in-your-mouth spicy beef, onion, salsa verde and a wee pot of consommé sauce for dipping.

It gets a 1000/10 in my books purely for tasting unreal, and the way it soaks up the consommé makes every bite an explosion of flavour.
Have I sold you on it yet?

70th celebration Toy Story Alien Macaron | Alien Pizza Planet
A lime-green alien-shaped macaron filled with the richest chocolate brownie and icing. Looks too good to eat, and tbh, the gram-worthy shots are going to be the main reason for grabbing this.
Heads up, even if you’re the sweetest of sweet tooths, you’ll have to share this with a friend and do NOT make the mistake of timing it too close to riding the Space Mountain roller coaster… I speak from experience.

Goofy’s Kitchen Buffet | Disneyland Resort
This buffet is unhinged in the best way. Pizza for breakfast, endless fried chicken, cupcakes, Mickey-shaped waffles, and a literal tank of maple syrup… it seriously had anything and everything you could think of munching on for breakfast.
I won’t lie, after one plate of the good stuff, I did have to make my second trip to fill up on fruit and yoghurt, or I’d be rolling out of there.

While dining, Goofy and his friends Pluto, Chip and Dale, Daisy, and Donald Duck all float around the restaurant. If you’re after the true Disney experience and are keen to meet the characters on your travels, Goofy’s Diner was the place to be.

Disneyland Pickle
Refreshingly cold and salty, the Disneyland pickle rounded off the snacking of the trip -and on the hottest day, too. I’ve eaten A LOT of pickles in my time, and while munching down on a whole one while wandering around seems really rogue, it was worth it.
Though you will end up wearing a fair share of pickle juice… oops! I guess that's just another excuse to buy some merch, though.

Disneyland is known as the happiest place on Earth, and for a foodie like me, it absolutely ticks that box.
If you’re not a thrill seeker and could skip the rides, you might need to make a day of snacking on its own.
